Reasons to Use a Radio Headset
Posted on April 8th, 2010 No commentsUsing a hand held radio can be kind of a pain but using a radio headset with your two way radio can make it a much more seamless experience. I’ll go over a few reasons why you should be using a radio headset if you are not all ready.
Using a radio headset makes using the radio much simpler. With voice activated technology you can do the whole thing hands free. All you need to do is speak and you will be communicating directly with the other people on the channel.
Radio earpieces are light weight and easily manageable. Some radios can be big and bulky and hard to handle. This is especially true if you are using an industrial intrinsically safe radio.
Many radio headsets fit over just one ear leaving the other open for other communication. After you have had a radio earpiece in for awhile you won’t even notice it.
Radio earpieces are a fairly inexpensive way to boost your safety and productivity. For less than $50 you can have a device that will free up your hands and put you in contact with the people you need to communicate with.
Of course if you require higher quality or more features you will pay more, but for the most part radio headsets are surprisingly inexpensive.
Being discreet about your communications may or may not be a deciding factor for you but with a radio earpiece you have the ability to be discrete if the situation requires. Earpieces are small enough that they are not noticeable and can easily be covered up with hair or a hat.
Being in contact allows you to coordinate your efforts for a common goal and having a radio earpiece allows you to do this without interrupting your flow. You can use a radio headset for business to improve safety and efficiency or you can use it for pleasure to enrich your experience. Whatever the case using a radio earpiece has the potential to make your life easier.

Even The Cheapest Mobile Phone Users Need Basic Phone Etiquette
Posted on January 15th, 2010 No commentsHaving a cell phone has definitely become a necessity these days. Even the cheapest mobile phone owner has probably wondered how they ever got along without one in the past. Handy phones are great because they help you stay connected with family and friends. To them, you are just a call or a test message away and they are the same to you. These days, cell phones have dramatically evolved that they are not only for calling and messaging, they are also for fun, relaxation, and entertainment. Listen music from it, watch TV, and even surf the internet. Even the cheapest mobile phones no longer just let you stay connected with friends, they also let you stay connected with the world!
Despite the many advantages of samsung omnia i910 cell phones, users are faced with some troubles. Etiquette troubles, that is. As buying a cell phone does not go with a seminar of how to use it properly, people set the importance of phone manners aside. You must not be new to this issue. You probably have already felt like throwing some popcorn on the person in front of you when he kept on talking on the phone during the movie climax in the cinema. Well, to serve as reminders, read on and make sure that you practice some etiquette when using your own phone. By being a responsible user yourself, you can make others lives more peaceful. You may also serve as a good role model, or shall we say, a model user?

cheapest mobile phones
First off, switch off your mobile phone or put it on vibrate or mute mode when you are in meetings, worship services, seminars, movies, and other occasions of the same kind. Use the vibrate mode when you can take a call but do not want to be disturbed. Answer a call when you think the caller is persistent. This may be a sign of an emergency and you would not want to miss it. Next, be brief. When you have to take a call when with some people, make it short so you will not keep them waiting. Thirdly, speak on a low voice. Do not tell people of business they are not supposed to be concerned about. Lastly, don’t talk on the phone and drive. There have been many accidents caused by this incident. Be cautious. Pull over and save your life. Remember basic etiquette. Don’t be cheap.

Love Music? Poor? Buy iPods Refurbished
Posted on July 19th, 2009 No commentsEveryone who claims to be a lover of music seems to own an iPod, and who can blame them? Apple has revolutionized the way we listen to our music with the invention of the iPod. There are always iPods on sale on websites like craigslist and eBay, and they may seem like excellent bargains. The truth though is that sometimes you may be buying a lemon. So we are left with the question, should I bother buying a refurbished iPod or just get a brand new one?
My recommendation is to buy a refurbished iPod touch. Believe it or not, many companies are still selling very low quality MP3 players on the market. You want to avoid these no matter what. They deals you may find on these devices may seem to be too good to be true, but it may be just that. Low quality MP3 players tend to break and malfunction after only a year or so. So you will be wasting a lot of money in the end.
The truth is that even used iPods have been proven to be more reliable than most MP3 players, and I don’t expect that this will ever change. Many people are ashamed to be ‘technologically behind’ with their iPods. They want to own the newest versions right away. If you think about it though, even if you buy last years model, you are still away ahead of the countless amount of people who have made the mistake of buying ‘other’ companies mp3 players.
So look into getting a refurbished iPod. Don’t make the mistake of getting something unreliable. Save you money for the best MP3 players available.

Does the Kindle Cover damage the Screens?
Posted on July 18th, 2009 No commentsWhile the bestselling Kindle cover from Amazon claims to protect your Kindle from damage, it may be that it is the cause of many cracked screens instead. Currently there is a federal class action by Beth Terrell with Terrell Marshall & Daudt against Amazon with claims that the case has caused over $5 million in damages.
The argument that if a product is designed to protect the Kindle then it should be liable if it in fact causes it damage.
The problem is with the clips that hold the Kindle securely in place, when bent the wrong way can cause pressure on the ebook reader screen causing cracks that cost anywhere from $200 to repair.
Up until recently Amazon was refusing to deal with the complaint but now is saying that they will honour all repairs at no cost to the customer.

Playing Video Games on a Notebook Computer
Posted on July 4th, 2009 No commentsIf you want to play video games on your notebook, then you will want to make sure you have all the features necessary. First off, you will want a large screen to make sure you have the best view during gameplay. The fastest CPU you can get, as well as the largest computer/graphics memory, will go far in making gameplay enjoyable. A good seat of speakers can really make a game enjoyable when you don’t have a set of headphones close by. A built in microphone can be really handy as well, as most games have online game play arenas where communication is important. Making sure the keyboard feels comfortable under your fingers is also important, as you will do a lot of quick strings of letter/number punches. Battery life can also play a big role, especially if you don’t have access to a electrical outlet during all your gameplay sessions. Doing a little notebook computer research before you buy should be a top priority, as there are a lot of options out there.

Two Way Radio Communication
Posted on July 1st, 2009 No commentsAre you sick of paying mobile phone bills? Do you need instant communication with your workmates? If you answered yes to either of those questions then two way radios might be just the thing you are looking for.
Two way radios allow instant communication with each other as long as your radios are on the same channel and are within range of each other.
They are the perfect option for workers on building sites, ports and other construction industries. You have the benefits of free ‘air time’ and when you speak your message can be broadcast to anyone of your workers or colleagues.
If you want to spend a little more money on a licensed two way radio, then you have the added benefits of your own channel which keeps things private and you don’t have to worry about sharing a radio channel with all and sundry.

Avoid Speeding Fines With A Speed Camera Detector
Posted on June 29th, 2009 No commentsI’ve only been caught speeding a couple of times in my life but I have to say it was one of the most annoying things to have happened to me both times. I’m a safe driver, although I like to break the speed limit on occasion I only do so when the conditions are perfect to travel faster than 70mph and I never speed in build up areas where there are pedestrians. So getting a speeding ticket just feels like an unnecessary tax which I resent paying.
That’s why early in my driving career I decide to take positive action and get myself a speed camera detector to protect my license and wallet against getting any further tickets and I have to say it has worked a treat.
My trusty GPS Speed Camera Detector warns my of speed traps I approach them so I can reduce my speed and cruise through without triggering the camera. I suggest you get one too if you value your right to drive.

Should You Prefer Vizio HDTV?
Posted on June 28th, 2009 No commentsAre you aware that there are certain features that are the basis for the HDTV ratings? One of these features include the number of pixels as well as the cross resolution in the television sets. It should be known that the quality of the resolution gets better when the number of the pixel escalates.
One more feature is the contrast ratio. This implies to the quality of the images on screen, these are specially related to the dark and light pixels. Moreover, there are many other things to look into when looking for the best HDTV. And one brand, the Vizio HDTV, stands out from all the other HDTV’s because of its great features and affordable price. That’s why when people will buy a high definition TV, it will surely be Vizio.

Free Church Accounting Software
Posted on June 19th, 2009 No commentsSo as an accountant, devout Christian, and owner of a church accounting blog, I get a lot of people asking me about free church accounting software. At first this question bugged me a little bit. I mean do you really want to skimp on something as important as your accounting? However after a while I realized that most people don’t look at accounting the same way as I do. They think of it as more of a necessary evil rather than something that can really add benefit to any organization.
Well I could ramble on and on about accounting and how it could really benefit your church. However, after I finished my rant you would probably still think that all accounting deals with tax and compliance (people forget about the field of managerial accounting which is the art of tracking information to make better choices about money or church membership).
Church Accounting Software For Free
There are a few options out there that offer their wares for free. Churchtrac is a potential option. The only problem is that they are only free for the first 100 members. In other words, if you plan on having a small church forever they may be a good option.
Another decent option is churchradius. They offer up their software with advertisements. That’s how they make enough money to keep offering the software for free.
If you are really cheap, then you could try tracking your accounting information in excel. And if you are extremely, insanely cheap then try Open Office Spreadsheets.
