Inspiration and Outdoor Lighting
Posted on July 20th, 2009 No commentsAt last, I can tell you the story of when I first realized how to make my home look better after the sun went down. I was always sort of stumped by this question. My landscaping and yard and garden were so lovely during the day, but once nightfall came it all disappeared into a hazy blackness.
Then I saw a commercial advertising garden lights. “That’s it!” I thought to myself. I jumped in the air and clicked my heels together. “All I need to do is to illuminate some of this magnificent gardening that I have done.” It all became so clear and I ordered up about a dozen garden lights which I promptly installed upon arrival. That did the trick and my house has never looked better.

Monitor Your Food Spending to Save Money
Posted on July 17th, 2009 No commentsWe’ve really had to start cutting corners over the last year or so, and I’m sure we’re not the only ones. The price of just about everything has risen, and no one is getting any pay rises. In fact, many people are being laid off simply because they’re employers can no longer afford to pay them. It’s a really sad state of affairs, but we just need to keep on struggling and surviving.
My wife has been documenting our eating habits as a way of trying to save a bit of money, and it turns out that we are spending way too much on our food. It’s the sort of thing that will just slip by your radar if your not making a conscious effort to monitor it, we have been eating take away a couple of nights a week, and buying meat at a much higher price than we could be. Now, with a few cheap meal ideas in our arsenal, and a set menu plan for each week, we are managing to save a heap of money, and eat a little healthier at the same time.

The Morning Coffee – An American Tradition
Posted on July 15th, 2009 No commentsFor most working Americans, coffee is a staple part of their diet. Our addiction to this black magical liquid is astounding in its proportions, and there is no sign of it letting up any time in the near future.
Opinions are divided as to just how good this addiction is to us. A recent news report claimed that drinking 3 or 4 cups of quality coffee a day can help prevent Alzheimer’s disease by keeping your brain active. On the other hand, some medical specialists continue to warn people that over consumption of caffeine can cause heart disease and high blood pressure. Whichever side of the fence you sit on, it cannot be denied that this beverage is an important part of our culture and an ingrained ritual in our morning routine. People all over the country fire up their cappucino machine first thing in the morning before doing anything else, while those that do not have that luxury make a beeline for the local Starbucks to start their day.

Cheap Foam Mattress Advice
Posted on July 14th, 2009 No commentsThere are two types of foam mattresses. The first is natural latex foam that most people are familiar with. The second is chemical memory foams which use space age technology. Many people find that memory foam mattresses are great if they suffer from joint or back pain.
If you are looking for a new cheap foam mattress then it is often a good idea to check out the many consumer reviews on the internet. That way you can read about the ones that people have found that work the best and also compare prices and brands.
A latex foam mattress is typically very cheap. In fact, it is probably the cheapest of all the types of fillings you can find in a mattress. Memory foams on the other hand can be just as expensive as a inner spring system and are known to be extremely comfortable.

Cleaning Brushed Nickel Kitchen Faucets is easy.
Posted on July 13th, 2009 No commentsIf you want a finish that is easy to clean and keep up then take a look at brushed nickel. A brushed nickel kitchen faucet does not reflect light as much and therefore stains, prints, and water spots and smudges don’t show as easily. You aren’t having to constantly wipe them down to keep up their good looking look. One downside of brushed nickel is that it can wear off quicker than most finishes.
Brushed nickel kitchen faucets can sometimes be expensive if you don’t know what your doing. All you have to do is shop around several of the brand name manufacturers and you can find the best deals. Do not make the mistake of taking the first faucet you come across or you may spend a lot more than you could have.

Dry Carpet Remove Underlay
Posted on July 12th, 2009 No commentsA soaked carpet can be saved, make sure you understand that. Just because you have a water damaged carpet doesn’t mean that you’ve got to get rid of it. By drying it out thoroughly and getting the room properly dried, it is certainly possible to save the carpet.
What is less able to be saved is the felt underlay that sits underneath your carpet. This is an extremely absorbent material and will have soaked up a lot of moisture. Once you’ve removed the carpet and taken it outside for drying or raised it off the floor your best option with the underlay is to take it up and remove it from the house. This is a fairly inexpensive material so it will cost a lot less to replace than the carpet itself.

Always Bring Folding Camping Chairs on a Camping Trip
Posted on July 10th, 2009 No commentsWhen you go camping it is important to prepare beforehand. Besides the obvious items such as first aid kits and mosquito repellent, there is one thing that I have to take for my own comfort: folding camping chairs. These allow two things at once: they are easy to transport and don’t take up much space, and at the same time they allow my family and me to relax out in the sun. We love to sit on our chairs out at the shore of the lake; some will go fishing and others will just lie back and take it all in.
First let’s look at the issue of transportation. Maybe you have encountered this problem before? You get the truck all loaded up and… you find that you still have half of your camping gear sitting on the side of the driveway. It’s a serious problem and one that won’t easily go away. The only way I have figured out how to solve it is by investing in some good old fashioned folding camping chairs so that space taken up is minimized in the vehicle.
So that is how we take care of that when we go out to the great outdoors. But then you want to sit out in nature once you get there. I personally hate sitting on the ground. Yes, boulders look very romantic to laze around on, but in reality they are not comfortable at all. That’s why we have folding camping chairs that we can just unfold and take a seat on. If you didn’t know better you’d think that maybe an outdoorsman invented them! In the end, this is the only way that I like to enjoy a good camping trip with my family: in the comfort of these chairs, hanging around with the people that I love.
