  • Calpe Hotels- An Overview

Posted on July 26th, 2010 No comments

Many of the international visitors to Spain, invariably find themselves in the Costa Blanca. This is the most popular tourist area in the country. Situated along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, the Costa Blanca consists of many cities and villages that are a prize in themselves. One of these is the quaint little town of Calpe. The town depicts a wonderful merger of old and new in its modern hotels and historical monuments. Calpe hotels are very well equipped to handle the influx of guests that shower the region especially in the summer.

The hotels of Calpe are categorized according to the international star rating system. Customary visitors know that the three star hotels will provide them with all the basic necessities along with exclusive services as required. Clean rooms, modern bathrooms, typical facilities like television and air conditioning are available in these three star rated hotels. The restaurants of these hotels are clean and spacious with good food to suit a variety of tastes. You will not be dissatisfied with your accommodation if you choose one of these, especially if you plan to spend more time in sight seeing and adventuring.

The four star rated hotels like the Sol Y Mar and the Bahía Calpe are comparatively expensive but compensate for that through extra services, rooms with wonderful views and facilities. Most of the four star hotels have fitness centers that are open to the guests only and allow for some leisure time and exercise. The hotel AR Diamante Beach Spa also offers business facilities and conference rooms for people who would like to conduct business amongst the soothing surroundings.

Calpe hotels, like most hotels in the Costa Blanca, tend to become very busy during the summer. With the large number of tourists travelling to the area, it will be very difficult to find a suitable room if you begin looking in the summer. The best thing to do is to begin your research and bookings well before the time of your visit. This will allow you to have more options and a choice of the cheapest prices.

This olive green canvas bag is issued to Military personnel as soon as they enter into basic training. It is actually, the first item that is given to the new recruits, so that they can stuff all of the other issue items in to the bag quickly.

These are all duffle bags; the list dictates what military equipment goes in what bag. The Duffle bag is marked on the bottom with spray paint of what Company, Platoon, and Squad that Soldier belongs to. On either side of the duffle bag will be spray painted black with the Soldiers Name, rank and service number. The technique is only used during travel.

Another interesting way the Army uses these bags is for punishment or corrective training. The NCOIC (Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge) of the Soldiers will have them run and get there duffle bags. The NCOIC will then order them to fill the duffle bag with rocks or whatever material is on hand at the time, and considering if the duffle bags are not already full. Once all the duffle bags are full the NCOIC will order the Soldiers to place the duffle bags over their heads, once everyone is in the same position, with the duffle bag over the head. The NCOIC will then say drop, and if there is not one unison sound of army duffle bags dropping they will repeat the exercise until it is achieved.

The military has use the duffle bag since World War II, and is still used today in the same way it was used back then.

I don’t really understand why anyone would bother getting married in the UK any more. When there are so many better options abroad. My wife and I got married in France, and it was a fantastic occasion. And recently I spoke to a couple of friends of mine who got married in Cyprus and the two had a wonderful experience.

At the end of the day,why would you get married in overpriced rainy UK when you can have a wedding that you’ll never forget in a beautiful sunny country? The cost of living in Cyprus is considerably cheaper than the UK with the added benefit of year-round sunshine. There are quite a few companies in the UK and Cyprus, which will organise. And there are quite a few options, you can have an Anglican or catholic wedding, or a civil service that could take place in a hotel or even on the beach. For more information about Cyprus, visit www.guide2cyprus.com. After all, the island of Cyprus is supposedly the birthplace of the goddess of love and beauty Aphrodite, so what are you waiting for?

  • Late September in Seaside Heights

The Seaside Heights Boardwalk in September

The Seaside Heights Boardwalk in September

The month of September is a beautiful time to be in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The large summer crowds are gone and the weather, at least on a nice day, is pretty enjoyable. The beach is pleasant but it may be a bit cool to swim in the ocean.

Seaside has also worked hard over the past decade or so to create a full slate of September weekend events. All of these beach parties involve a daylong or multi-day slate of parades, contests and other festival related things-to-do. The real purpose of these events is to keep people coming to the beach well past what used to be the normal summer season. Labor Day was traditionally the end of the ten week summer tourism season. Now there is the seafood festival, Mardi Gras weekend and a clown festival to draw people to town. All of this makes it nice to visit Seaside Heights during what I think is a great time of the year.
