  • Liposuction Prices: Factors Influencing the Cost of Liposuction

Posted on September 18th, 2009 No comments

Liposuction has never been cheap yet it’s also within reach of the middle and upper classes in most countries. This is evident in a country such as the United States wherein which hundreds of thousands of people are able to afford the treatments, which at rock bottom cost at least a $1,000, and more commonly much more than this.

What is it that influences the price for liposuction?

There are many factors, and here are the most dominant:

Location. As in, what part of the country you live in. This is relative to how many other doctors are practicing in your area.

Gender. Male liposuction treatments tend to cost a bit more due to male fat being more fibrous and thus harder to remove.

Patient Health. If the patient is largely overweight, the surgery can be more complicated, requiring more expertise and skill on the part of the doctor, thus translating into higher costs for the patient.

Body Treatment Area. This is obvious but the cost largely depends on where you are having fat removed. The abs cost more than the arms, for example.

Fee for the anesthesia. A patient must be anesthetized and the cost for the actual anesthesia and for its dispensing goes into the patient bill.

Beyond this, you’ll see other components effecting the pricing for liposuction, including garments fees and hospital room fees.
