We’ve really had to start cutting corners over the last year or so, and I’m sure we’re not the only ones. The price of just about everything has risen, and no one is getting any pay rises. In fact, many people are being laid off simply because they’re employers can no longer afford to pay them. It’s a really sad state of affairs, but we just need to keep on struggling and surviving.

My wife has been documenting our eating habits as a way of trying to save a bit of money, and it turns out that we are spending way too much on our food. It’s the sort of thing that will just slip by your radar if your not making a conscious effort to monitor it, we have been eating take away a couple of nights a week, and buying meat at a much higher price than we could be. Now, with a few cheap meal ideas in our arsenal, and a set menu plan for each week, we are managing to save a heap of money, and eat a little healthier at the same time.
