Finding full coverage dental insurance is not a practical option for most people. The plans that would afford this type of coverage are simply not widely available.  In those rare cases where you can find this type of insurance plan, the cost is likely to be prohibitively expensive.

So what types of dental coverage are available? Some of the dental plansdo provide fairly decent coverage of the ordinary dental procedures you’re likely to need. But you do need to be on the lookout for hidden limitations. Many dental plans do not cover root canals, for example. This can become a problem very quickly, because you never know when you will need this procedure and it can be very expensive to have done. It involves multiples visits to the dentist, expensive materials, and expert labor so you will want to be sure that you have dental insurance coverage for this.
