  • Have Patience With Your Dog

Posted on June 5th, 2009 No comments

Patience is a great virtue you must show to the dog and they will try to please you! Do not get angry with the dog for not understanding! Shouting at your dog will only frighten it. The correct way to tell the dog it has done something wrong is to look him straight in the eye and say firmly, “No!” After this, the best way to prevent it from happening again is to show your dog the correct way you expect them to behave. Once the dog has followed your example, you should praise it. Here is another Beagle dog training tip: never hit your Beagle, because it may come to resent you, or even act aggressively!

We all know that Beagles are quick to lose focus, so bringing your dog to a quiet room with very little distractions will prove beneficial to the training exercises. Make sure this room is also large enough for you to be able to take a few steps back, so the dog doesn’t feel cornered. Remember, even though the exercise is meant to benefit you, the dog must be interested in it too, so make sure he feels comfortable! He will thank you later!
