]]> The R&B group Silk are probably most well known for their 1993  hit  “Freak Me” which came off of their debut album called Lose Control. Also off that album, “Girl U For Me”,  allowed the album to get to double platinum.  Later successes came with songs like  “I Can Go Deep”, “Hooked On You”, “Don’t Rush”, “If You”, “Meeting In My Bedroom”, and “We’re Calling You.”

Silk music was discovered by  Keith Sweat, an R&B musician. The 5 person group consisted of Tim Cameron, Jimmy Gates, Gary “Big G” Glenn, Gary “Lil G” Jenkins and Jonathen “John-John” Rasboro.  But in 2002, the group and Keith Sweat were both dropped from the label. Also  that year, Jenkins ditched the group to pursue his other interests like stage performance, eventually appearing in a piece by Tyler Perry.
